ASUU may end strike



Bringing hope of ending strike that was embarked on by ASUU the Vice-President Namadi Sambo held a meeting behind closed doors with the leadership of ASUU in Abuja yesterday.However the National president of ASSU Dr. Nassir Faggae, told correspondents in the meeting that they will make their position known after the National Executive Council Meeting.


According to the report source at the meeting, who was anonymous, told one of the correspondent that the strike might be called off within the next two weeks going by the new offer made by the Federal Government.

“The meeting went well, the vice-president made some new offers that were different from what was on ground before. For instance, the Federal Government had agreed to start the injection of revitalisation fund into the university system starting with N100bn this year and N150bn in 2014 and this will continue until the university system is solid enough to stand."
